Software integration in robotics
Automation and manufacturing technology is increasingly software-defined today. Within the scope of the present study, approaches and obstacles for efficient and long-term sustainable software development in robotics were investigated. Methodologically, the State of the art of software and system development in robotics at integrators, users, and component manufacturers and to the State of the art (or Science) of Software Engineering. The findings were examined from the perspective of tool-supported development, specifically Model-Based Software/System Engineering (MBSE), and resulted in concrete requirements for practically applicable MBSE tools on the one hand, and recommendations for the integration of software platforms such as ROS and modern model-based development methods into robotics on the other.
